NCCC Clearance Overview

Once you apply and have been accepted or waitlisted for AmeriCorps NCCC service, you will go through a clearance process to confirm your eligibility to serve. Your acceptance is conditional until you have passed the legal and medical clearance process, and AmeriCorps NCCC has confirmed that there are sufficient funds for the program.

After you are accepted or waitlisted, you will receive an "Acceptance Packet" in the mail, which includes several forms that you will need to complete and return within 10 business days from the date the packet was sent. If you fail to return these forms within 10 days, you may be disqualified from service. If you need more time to return your paperwork, you should contact the My AmeriCorps hotline at 1-800-942-2677 or send an e-mail to ANCCC@cns.gov immediately with your reason for missing the deadline. You may or may not be granted an extension to successfully complete the required forms, depending on the circumstances.

You will be notified by e-mail once your forms have been received, and at that point you can log into the My AmeriCorps portal to monitor your clearance status.
