Sometimes, in order to perform a project effectively, member transportation may be essential. AmeriCorps is responsible for determining whether service-related transportation is needed, and as a general rule, members are to use public transportation when it available and adequate. When there is no public transportation available, the VISTA project is responsible for providing or supporting vehicles use by members during their service.
You must also fill out a V-81 Form whenever your service requires you to operate any or all of the following service-related transportation: vehicle owned or leased by the sponsoring organization, vehicle owned or leased by a member, vehicles owned or leased by another person, and public transportation.
