Why has the status of my forbearance request not changed to reflect that it was accepted?

The legislation that mandates Financial Institutions to grant forbearance of qualified loans to AmeriCorps members does not require the lenders to submit the forbearance requests back to the Trust.  You should receive notice directly from your Financial Institution letting you know that your loan has been placed in forbearance.  If the status of your forbearance request has not changed from "Submitted to Institution" and 30 days have passed since your current request, you should contact your Financial Institution to learn the status of your forbearance request.
