Your health benefits become effective when you travel to the VISTA Pre-Service Orientation. The benefit ends at midnight on the last day of your VISTA term of service. If you extend your VISTA service or re-enroll for an additional year, your health coverage continues without interruption through midnight of your new completion of service date.
If you service starts before your attend the Pre-Service Orientation, you coverage begins in the first day of service. (Note: this is a rare occurrence and must be approved in advance of the start date.)
