What are the three different types of transportation?

There are three different types of V-81 Forms, depending on what type of transportation you will be using: Member-owned vehicle form, Project-owned vehicle form, and Public Transportation.  Make sure and fill out a form for each vehicle and/or form of Public Transportation you plan to use during your service.

A member-owned vehicle is a vehicle that is owned by a member but is necessary to carry out your VISTA service duties.  You must obtain authorization from the State Office to be able to use your personal vehicle in order to use it for official business. Complete a form for any vehicle you may use during your year of service.

A Project-owned vehicle is a vehicle that is owned or leased by the VISTA project and is authorized to be used for service-related business.

Taking public transportation is sometimes required during your VISTA service, especially if you are working in an urban area.  The VISTA project is required to reimburse you for the transportation costs incurred in relation to your project.
