There are two different types of events:
Pre-Service Orientation (PSO): An orientation designed for incoming or new VISTA members only. Every new VISTA is required to attend a PSO prior to or soon after starting service.
In-Service Training (IST): An event sponsored by AmeriCorps VISTA that is usually organized by the State Office. During your service, you may attend one or more IST events. When searching for events to attend during your term of service, this is event type you would want to look for if you are a regular VISTA member.
VISTA Leader Training (LDR): An event sponsored by AmeriCorps VISTA designed for VISTA Leaders. If you are a VISTA Leader, you may attend an LDR event during your term of service.
Supervisor Orientation (SUP): An event sponsored by AmeriCorps VISTA designed for new VISTA Supervisors. This type of event is for Supervisors only. No members, including VISTA Leaders, will attend this type of event.
