What are my Future Plans options?

At the beginning of your Future Plans Form, you will be asked what you would like to do (at the end of your term of service). Your options are as follows:

  1. Extend my service for less than a year:  You should select this option if you wish to extend your term of service on your current assignment for less than 12 months. If you select this option, you will also be requested to enter the new date you would like to complete your service. Your "Extend until" date must be after your expected completion date, but less than a year from your current completion date. Note that this action is subject to final approval by your State Office.

  2. Re-enroll for an additional year:  You should select this option if you wish to serve another year as a VISTA immediately after your current assignment ends. If you select this option, you will also be asked to select your end-of-service option for your next assignment. When you speak with your supervisor during your exit interview, you will discuss whether you will be re-enrolled on the same project or a new project. Note that this action is subject to final approval by your State Office.

  3. Complete my service as scheduled on [your expected completion date]:  You should select this option if you wish to exit VISTA as scheduled.

  4. Terminate my service early:  You should select this option if you wish to exit VISTA prior to your expected completion date. If you select this option, you will be asked to enter the date of your termination and select your reason for terminating early. If none of the dropdown options match your reason, you may use the "Other" textbox to enter your reason.
