There are several different types of events:
Pre-Service Orientation (PSO): This is an orientation designed for incoming or new VISTA members only. Every new VISTA is required to attend a PSO prior or soon after starting service.
In-Service Training (IST): This is an event that is sponsored by AmeriCorps VISTA, and is usually organized by the State Office. You will sometimes be asked by the State Office to enroll your project team into an event of this type. Occasionally a VISTA on your project may request that you enroll him or her in this type of event as well.
VISTA Leader Training (LDR): This is a training event sponsored by AmeriCorps VISTA and designed for VISTA Leaders only.
Supervisor Orientation (SUP): This is an orientation designed for new VISTA supervisors only. Every new supervisor should attend one Supervisor Orientation in the course of their first year in that position.
