Motivational Statement:

I am interested in applying for the AmeriCorps program because I am eager to learn more about the world, and to give back in any way I can. Another plus is the opportunity to reside in a new environment during the duration of the program. I just started my freshman year in College, and I am still trying to figure out what it is I would like to do for the rest of my life. I feel as though this program would provide myself with an excellent opportunity to further enhance my skills as well as my knowledge of the world around me. Also help me potentially find a hidden passion of mine. Although I am undecided about my program, I know that I want to make a difference in the world, I have always been passionate about our planet, and about helping others. This would be a great opportunity to work on a team to do both of those things. I am hoping to advance my communication skills as well as my knowledge of different environmental issues. I heard about this program through my foster mom at the end of last May. Ever since then I have been thinking about it. I thought what better time than this summer to venture off and conduct real change. Time is so fleeting and so precious. Why waste another moment.
