Community Education Coordinator VISTA (CCP)
 
 
 
The Community Education Coordinator VISTA will be an essential member of the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space team. In cooperation with our community partners, this person will serve to create new and innovative park-based education programs that improve stewardship and appreciation of our public lands. This will include developing interpretive programs designed to get more citizens outside where they will benefit from spending time in parks and open spaces. The mission of Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is to provide exceptional parks, open space, and diverse recreational opportunities to enhance the quality of life in Carson City, while preserving our natural resources for future generations.

Member Duties : Develop and ground test new community education programming including interpretive walks, special events, and other activities designed to increase and improve Carson City citizens’ experience in parks and open spaces; Develop and maintain partnerships with schools and community groups; Train volunteers to help implement community programming; Develop teacher training workshops based on Student Stewards Program.
