Summer Associates-United Way of the CSRA (Augusta)
 
 
 
United Way of the CSRA will serve as an intermediary sponsor and engage nonprofit agencies in the 2014 VISTA Summer Associate Program. The Summer Program is geared towards giving college students who are home for the summer and graduating seniors an opportunity to serve and gain valuable experience working with one of our great nonprofits and helping build capacity in our community. Priority is given to host agency sites that need help with summer programs that support youth who attend Title 1 programs. However, other host agency sites that would benefit from a VISTA Summer Associate to support volunteer recruitment, resource development, and/or marketing efforts have also been encouraged to participate. Host agency sites where one or more VISTA Summer Associates will be placed include: Boys & Girls Club, The Family Y, MACH Academy, American Red Cross, Augusta Partnership for Children, CSRA Partnership for Community Health, United Way 2-1-1 and others as identified.

Member Duties : 1) Recruit and train volunteers in support of summer youth programs. 2) Provide direct service to youth through active participation in summer youth activities scheduled. 3) Provide indirect service support to program staff in support of summer youth programs and family information and referral services. 4) Plan and coordinate mini fundraisers to support nonprofit needs. 5) Assist with preparations needed for special events 6) Develop nonprofit education program needs. 7) Valid Driver's License, car insurance and dependable means of transportation required to support summer program. 8) Other related duties as assigned.
