Economic and Racial Justice Community Coordinator
 
 
 
Workers’ Dignity - Dignidad Obrera - is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Economic and Racial Justice Community Coordinator (Coordinator) with an interest in workers’ rights, social justice, and community engagement. The Coordinator’s work will focus on expanding Workers’ Dignity’s outreach program and helping develop education and skills-training curricula for workers’ rights and other program areas. Additionally, the Coordinator will develop a volunteer management system, orientation, and database. The Coordinator should have project and data management skills, the ability to see the big picture while not losing track of the details, and enjoy working with diverse populations. The ideal candidate can navigate fast-paced and changing environments and is able to adapt based on the needs of our clients and program areas. The candidate must be able to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences through social media, for organizational reports, and with our clients. Although not required, bilingual or conversational English/Spanish is a plus. The Coordinator participates in a yearlong term (1,700 hours) of AmeriCorps service building capacity for Workers’ Dignity by supporting worker-led organizing for economic justice and dignity for all. This AmeriCorps participant is part of a 23-member national service cohort that builds nonprofit capacity through a partnership between Hands On Nashville and participating AmeriCorps host sites. Members receive skills training, professional development, and networking opportunities throughout their yearlong term. Member Duties : - Perform outreach through tabling events, canvassing, or speaking at special events/meetings - Complete client intake and follow up as needed - Assist in developing and facilitating "Know Your Rights" and other educational workshops - Develop and maintain client database - Develop systems for regularly collecting data to track metrics and benchmarks for our program areas - Develop volunteer management system, including orientation and onboarding materials, data management, and volunteer development
