First 3! Parent Seminar Coordinator

The Family Center (TFC) is looking for a First 3! Parent Seminar Coordinator (Coordinator) who is a strategic thinker with an interest in project management, volunteer recruitment, and engagement. The Coordinator will help TFC improve the health and well-being of young children and expand parents’ early childhood knowledge. Under the guidance of pediatricians and pediatric experts, First 3! offers seminars that guide parents through understanding early childhood brain development, emotional and behavioral reactions, coping strategies, and how to lay the foundation for success in later years. The ideal candidate has demonstrated an ability to effectively and compellingly articulate a program vision to diverse audiences and garner support to execute the vision. She/he must possess the ability to look at program execution globally while also paying attention to the important granular details and be able to utilize technology and databases accurately and effectively. The Coordinator participates in a yearlong term (1,700 hours) of AmeriCorps service supporting The Family Center in breaking multigenerational cycles of child abuse, neglect, and trauma. This AmeriCorps participant is part of a 23-member national service cohort that builds nonprofit capacity through a partnership between Hands On Nashville and participating AmeriCorps host sites. Members receive skills training, professional development, and networking opportunities throughout their yearlong term. HON does not discriminate based on age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or other factors which deny the essential humanity of all people.
