E3.20 Eco3 LNPK Innovation Zone Developer

Ecolibrium3's mission is to lead and inspire change in our community toward an equitable and sustainable future. We accomplish this mission through innovation, integration, and inspiration in three areas of focus. The first is serving as the neighborhood convening organization in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, working on all aspects of sustainable revitalization that advances opportunities for residents and businesses. The second is a focus on community resilience including aspects of energy transition, housing stock improvement, economic security, and health. The third is bringing capacity to our community through the Eco3 VISTA program. We excel at understanding the high level challenges and then designing and implementing programs, partnerships, and projects that address those issues. Our work builds opportunities in our community through ongoing dedication, professionalism, and relationship building. We seek a VISTA member to assist with building programmatic capacity to improve an economically and environmentally challenged neighborhood where residents (pre-COVID-19) face significant health disparities- dying on average 20 years earlier than other ares of Duluth. The successful applicant will show passion for people and places, emphasize approaches to co-create with residents, and bring professional skills and curiousity. The VISTA member will be part of the Eco3 VISTA cohort serving in northeastern Minnesota. Although each member is serving in a unique position, all cohort members will participate in VISTA specific activities such as regular cohort meetings, collaborative projects, professional development opportunities, and trainings. Additionally, cohort members will jointly complete one community service project of their cooperative design. Member Duties : The Eco3 LNPK Innovation Zone Developer will work to advance a healthy revitalization of Duluth's most challenged census tract. The member will spearhead the implementation of a rapid rehousing project, build partnerships around blight removal, develop a block-by-block approach, and apply environmental sustainability and urban planning best practices to creatively improve a community. Essential to this position is the ability to develop relationships and community outreach systems, within the new COVID-19 environment, in order to authentically engage residents. This position will operate at the intersection of energy, equity, and eco-vitality. The member will increase community outreach, engage in volunteer recruitment for designed projects, expand partnerships with community-based organizations, and develop project and long-term funding systems.
