Austin Transportation Dept. Bicycle Outreach VISTA

The VISTA will assist Austin Transportation Department (ATD) with implementing an education and encouragement campaign. The goal of the initiative is to engage and educate people in poverty about bicycle use. In addition, to provide increased opportunities for communities living in poverty to have the option of bicycle use for daily transportation. This will help move people out of poverty by reducing their transportation costs, improving health and fitness, and strengthening a "ladder of opportunity" that opens up access to paths out of poverty.
