Youth & Family Services Data and Outreach VISTA (Austin)
 
 
 
The Youth & Family Services (YFS) Data & Outreach VISTA will work to break the cycle of poverty in Austin by making YFS programs more inclusive. They will accomplish this by compiling data and demographic information for each YFS program, then creating outreach plans to help each project better target the populations they aim to include, such as Title I schools or children with special needs.

Member Duties : Create a system to collect and track the data of eleven Youth and Family Services programs: seven internship programs plus AustinCorps, Austin Youth Council, College Student Commission, and Youth Career Fest. Research the histories of the eleven programs and gather what data is available. Research data collection initiatives within the City of Austin and in other cities to determine best practices for gathering, tracking, and displaying the data. Share the system with the program coordinators for feedback and then make adjustments as necessary. Implement the data collection system to create data profiles for each Youth & Family Services initiative. Compile data for all YFS programs from their creation to present into data profiles. Compile demographics for targeted communities across Austin. Create an outreach plan for one Youth & Family Services initiative as a pilot.
