New York Cares VISTA Summer Associate 1
 
 
 
New York Cares is New York City’s largest volunteer management organization, and one of many organizations currently active in disaster response and recovery. The VISTA Summer Associates will be a critical support to our expanded network of emergency food providers and new volunteers in response to the rising need for emergency food in New York City. By recruiting, placing, and training volunteers and volunteer leaders on behalf of 100+ emergency food providers, the VISTA Summer Associates will provide a key stabilizing force to the network. Through their work, they will create detailed documentation for project operations. This will include a project timeline, tasks undertaken, order of tasks, client flow, photos, and video documentation of project operations. Summer Associates will then go on to replicate and implement lessons learned through that documentation throughout their portfolio of nonprofit partners.

Member Duties : The VISTA Summer Associates will: recruit and place volunteers on behalf of 100+ emergency food providers in NYC to serve the rising need for emergency food; recruit, place, and support trained volunteer Team Leaders; create detailed documentation for project operations including a project timeline, tasks undertaken, order of tasks, client flow, photos, and video documentation of project operations; and provide training to partners on volunteer management best practices. NOTE: This is a teleservice position. New York Cares will provide the VISTA Summer Associates with the technology needed to perform their assignments.
