Opportunity Council - VSF Family Support & Engagement YR2
This is the 3rd year VISTA at Villa Santa Fe, Whatcom County’s first Catholic Housing Services (CHS) facility providing safe, affordable housing to 50 low-income farmworker households. There has been a great foundation built. We have been able to partner effectively with Bellingham School District, YMCA, Western Washington University, Bellingham Food Banks, Employment Security Department, Sea Mar Community Health Center, and others. Most of the residents have been living at Villa Santa Fe since it was built in 2016. There is a strong commitment to building community and celebrating together. In order to sustain these efforts, the 3rd year VISTA will help us continue to find volunteers and resources in the community to support residents so they can continue to learn, have support from programs, and prosper. The Opportunity Council VISTA Cohort in Bellingham includes monthly team meetings, Professional Development opportunities, fun team-building events, and 4 annual Days of Service.
