Homeless Partnerships Integrator (Bend, OR)

NeighborImpact, located in Bend, Oregon, was created to represent and serve Central Oregon’s economically-disadvantaged residents. We are the region's leading provider of emergency food programs, housing and homeless services, energy assistance, home weatherization, childcare provider resources, early childhood education services, and self-sufficiency programs for the working poor. Our community is spread across Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson counties and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, a mostly rural region that also includes Bend and Redmond. The VISTA placed at our agency will assist in developing NeighborImpact’s initiative to increase participation by volunteers and businesses to support programs, specifically those supporting people experiencing homelessness. AmeriCorps VISTAs perform only indirect service; interaction with clients will be limited. However, the VISTA will play a dynamic role in ending poverty by building volunteer teams around specific activities, building partnerships with small businesses to generate support, and creating a sponsorship system to connect people experiencing homelessness to support from non-traditional sources. As a NeighborImpact VISTA you will be part of a larger cohort of AmeriCorps VISTAs coordinated by Mercy Corps Northwest. Early applications strongly encouraged. Selections made on a rolling basis.
