Creative Sustainability Volunteer Engagement Leader
The Creative Sustainability Volunteer Engagement Leader will support the Volunteer Coordinator at Turnip Green Creative Reuse - TGCR. The Leader will assist with the planning and implementation of volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies. This AmeriCorps Member will take an active role in developing, scheduling, and leading volunteer tours, meet-ups, itineraries, curriculum, and special event programming for children and adults. Additionally, the Leader will create evaluation metrics and assessments to analyze effectiveness of existing volunteer programs. The ideal candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service through effective written and verbal communication with Nashville’s diverse community. The candidate should be passionate about sustainability, education, and creativity, and adapt to a changing workload in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. The Leader participates in a yearlong term - 1,700 hours- of AmeriCorps service supporting TGCR’s mission of diverting materials from the landfill by accepting donations from businesses and individuals. They provide reuse art galleries, an open studio workspace, a retail shop, and education programming. Offering an inclusive, safe space for all to create, TGCR believes materials should be accessible and employs a pay-what-you-can model. TGCR teaches about the environment, sustainability, and creativity to all in order to continue this cycle of investing in earth and community.

Member Duties : - Develop and implement strong and inclusive volunteer curriculum, programming, and training guides for staff and volunteers serving TGCR - Create videos and digital content to promote volunteerism and increase visibility - Assist with coordinating volunteers, and develop stronger systems for volunteer management and evaluation - Develop an online volunteer registration tool for easy website utilization to increase volunteer participation and outreach - Connect with organizations to schedule, track, evaluate, and facilitate volunteer groups and tours - Plan and implement engaging events geared toward increasing volunteer options - Develop marketing strategy to promote volunteer programs - Maintain a calendar of outreach activities for volunteers - Create and administer surveys enabling TGCR to gauge the impact and effectiveness of volunteers on the organization 0
