Volunteer Project Leader - Hands On Nashville
 
 
 
Hands On Nashville is looking for an energetic Volunteer Project Leader with an interest in project management, hands-on construction work, event planning, volunteer engagement, and corporate social responsibility. The Leader aids the corporate volunteer engagement team in developing and managing customized volunteer events benefiting nonprofits, schools, and other civic organizations. The candidate should be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, work inside and outside throughout the year, including in heat and inclement weather. The ideal candidate has demonstrated leadership and/or volunteer-management skills, provides excellent customer service through effective written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders, and is able to adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. The Leader participates in a yearlong term of service - 1,700 hours- with HON, which builds capacity for individuals and agencies to meet needs through service. HON’s programs connect volunteers to opportunities supporting 180-plus nonprofits, schools, and other civic organizations; help these partners reimagine volunteer potential; and bring awareness to the challenges facing the people and places in our community.

Member Duties : - Assists with project development, including conducting site visits, creating budgets, procuring supplies, and setting up and tearing down events - Responsible for ordering, optimizing, and managing project inventory and organizing all necessary equipment for projects - Oversees project preparation and execution, including organization of project vehicles and materials -Operates vehicles, equipment, and tools and handle construction materials in indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions (safety training will be provided) - Provides volunteer leadership to, and acts as liaison with, corporate volunteer teams - Designs supporting collateral for projects - Researches and develops new volunteer activities - Assesses the volunteer experience and makes enhancements based on feedback - Builds relationships with community partners to assess and meet needs - Develops resources for project planning
