Summer Program: CEDAM, NorthWest Initiative, Food Distrib.
 
 
 
CEDAM's Summer Associate program is placing AmeriCorps VISTA summer associates in communities to address the issue of food insecurity. Summer associates will serve at a host site for ten weeks doing direct service work like providing meals, teaching children about healthy food and exercise, recruiting volunteers and providing outreach to ensure that families know about the resources available to them year round. CEDAM's summer associates will receive abundant training opportunities including a one-day orientation in Lansing and the option to attend the Developing Vibrant Communities conference in Detroit. Member Duties : NorthWest Initiatives is recruiting two VISTA summer associates. The member serving in this position will work with the organization’s emergency food distribution program to gather food donations, distribute food, and provide recipes and nutrition information for community residents. In addition, this member will recruit students and volunteers for the “Cooking with Teens” summer camp.
