In an effort to stem the opioid crisis, this VISTA position will impact poverty by increasing access to treatment services for people who struggle with substance use disorder. As a result of the VISTA member’s service a nonprofit recovery support providers will have an updated web presence and hundreds of patients seeking recovery support will have access to accurate and actionable online resources. The Social Media/Web Developer VISTA member will work to build the capacity of their host site by developing and implementing new and/or improved websites/social media services for a recovery support provider in Kansas City, MO.

Member Duties : This VISTA will assess the current state of online presence of Footprints, Inc. to create or update the website/social media accounts to improve their effectiveness and sustainability. The VISTA will become oriented to the history, mission, and the scope of practice of Footprints, Inc.; and research best methods for developing and publishing a website/social media accounts with actionable services. They will use gathered information to develop and publish a website/social media content for this recovery support providers so they are professionally represented online and those seeking recovery resources can better navigate their continuum of care. The VISTA will also establish or source training material for implementation of website/social media maintenance so content can be scheduled and updated in the future.
