Project for Pride in Living Youth Justice Coordinator

PPL is a 39 year-old nonprofit organization that serves low-income individuals and families by helping them gain the tools they need to reach greater self-sufficiency. Guiding the organization's growth and current programs is the phrase, helping people help themselves, expressing our commitment to the values of a strong work ethic, personal accountability and responsibility, and the participation of the people we work with in their own growth toward self-sufficiency. With more than 26 years of experience in providing employment and job training opportunities, PPL takes a variety of approaches to help low-income individuals enter the workforce and advance in their careers. Options for job seekers include job training programs, education opportunities, and technology-based employment resources. Focusing on youth who are homeless or highly mobile, in the juvenile justice systems, or foster care, LEAP integrates several newly launched programs to more effectively help young people earn a secondary credential. The VISTA will build capacity for organizations within LEAP and with other Youth Justice 20*20 partners to support young people to apply to have their records sealed. **This position is part of the Minnesota Alliance With Youth Cohort. This cohort provides a learning community of 20 fellow VISTA members service projects geared toward educational equity. We provide monthly+ professional development training and additional support throughout the year.
