'20-'21 Youth Engagement VISTA- GCBH VIST- SH
 
 
 
In the fourth year of the Greenville County Behavioral Health (GCBH) VISTA program, the Youth Engagement VISTA will serve at the administrative offices of Safe Harbor, a non-profit serving Upstate SC working to provide a continuum of services for victims of domestic violence and their children and to eliminate cultural acceptance of domestic violence through a coordinated community response, prevention and education. Greenville, South Carolina continues to receive national and international recognition for its southern charm, opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, arts scene, sports culture, and cuisine. Greenville has been lauded by The New York Times as one of the 52 cities in the world to visit, by USA Today as one of the 10 best emerging destinations, and as one of America’s ten best downtowns for its combination of revitalized commercial and park space. Greenville is located at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. This position is eligible for a gym membership to a specific local facility and a housing stipend to be paid directly to the landlord.

Member Duties : The Youth Engagement VISTA at Safe Harbor will increase and improve the agency’s processes related to youth engagement. This individual will develop procedure related to serving youth through social media and the Relationship Education Project (REP). This VISTA will develop a model for a youth advisory council composed of students identified through REP. This person will also develop and implement a model for a youth volunteer mentoring program to help address behavioral health needs and support children residing in emergency shelters.
