'20-'21 Substance Use Disorder VISTA- GCBHV- GFMC
 
 
 
Are you ready to fight poverty and provide increased access to services related to mental health in Upstate South Carolina? In the fourth year of the Greenville County Behavioral Health (GCBH) VISTA program, the Substance Use Disorder Assessment VISTA will serve at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. The clinic serves thousands each year who are experiencing poverty who need behavioral health services. The VISTA will assist with data tracking and assessment while also building relationships in the community. Greenville, South Carolina continues to receive national and international recognition for its southern charm, opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, arts scene, sports culture, and cuisine. Greenville has been lauded by The New York Times as one of the 52 cities in the world to visit, by USA Today as one of the 10 best emerging destinations, and as one of America’s ten best downtowns for its combination of revitalized commercial and park space. Greenville is located at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. This position is eligible for a gym membership to a specific local facility and a housing stipend to be paid directly to the landlord.

Member Duties : This VISTA will serve at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. This person will observe current drug and alcohol assessments to determine and compare to best practices whether clinic assessments need to be modified. The VISTA will develop a specific referral system for quick access to services and review relationships with Greenville area drug and alcohol counseling services. This position will review current tracking system for referrals for drug and alcohol counseling. Strong Spanish skills are strongly preferred
