Search Institute - Research & Practice Communications VISTA
We know that work is more satisfying when you’re making a difference. At Search Institute, everything we do makes an impact on youth. We tackle complex challenges daily that inspire us to develop innovative solutions by listening to young people, and provide the needed tools and resources to those working and supporting youth. Search Institute is a nonprofit organization that studies and works to strengthen youth success in schools, coalitions, youth and family organizations, and the faith community. Throughout our 60-year history, we have focused on improving the outcomes and success of youth. By leveraging strong partnerships and sharing quality research through publications, workshops, and surveys, Search Institute has been a highly regarded thought leader. The Alliance VISTA will work in partnership with the supervisor and host site to build and begin implementation of systems and strategies to (a) effectively communicate findings from Search Institute’s applied research on the critical role developmental relationships in ensuring success in school and life for young people across Minnesota and the United States; and (b) equip educators and other youth-serving practitioners to more effectively use research to improve practice. The goal is to use data to empower youth and adults to become more intentional and inclusive in building relationships that help to reduce inequities, increase opportunities, services, and programs for youth of color, low-income youth, and other young people from marginalized communities. **This position is part of the Minnesota Alliance With Youth Cohort. This cohort provides a learning community of 20 fellow VISTA members service projects geared toward educational equity. We provide monthly+ professional development training and additional support throughout the year.
