Willis Dady Homeless Services, IA&MN Campus Compact VISTA

For over 30 years Willis Dady Homeless Services has been empowering clients to break the cycle of homelessness and become self-sufficient. Our programs range from homelessness prevention to street outreach, rapid re-housing, emergency shelter and supported employment. The Development and Marketing team is tasked with telling our agency’s story to the surrounding community, including to potential donors and volunteers. The Willis Dady Engagement Coordinator VISTA will be part of this team. They will further develop our organization’s connection to the larger community through gathering stories and creating outward facing content and presentations. Ultimately this work will improve our service to individuals experiencing homelessness by expanding our ability to educate the public, apply for funding for our various needs, build programs, and advocate for affordable housing. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. There are three focus areas, this project being in the Opportunity Corps which supports sites in long-term approaches to issues related to personal economic success including housing and employment support. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Start date will be in late fall but is negotiable. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
