Through their service at sites in the Greater Portland area, MFS AmeriCorps Members support the agency's three critical community initiatives: 1. Strengthening early childhood development and building youth success through collaboration and innovation, so that every child gets a good start in life and has the opportunity to grow into healthy, educated, productive, and engaged members of our community. 2. Developing and promoting effective approaches to community-based health and wellness throughout the lifespan, so that people are equipped to play an active role in their well-being and societal costs for healthcare can be reduced. 3. Advancing individual and family economic well-being, so that people in our community can live with dignity, security and purpose.

Member Duties : Placed with the MFS Ready, Set, Go! program, Early Childhood Member: Supports delivery of climate resilience and wellness-centered resources to families participating in RSG! early childhood program. Coordinate health and wellness-focused family events and workshops. Recruit and Coordinate family and community volunteers. Lead & Support site-specific projects and activities. Classes and workshops are often conducted in both English and Spanish. This position encourages the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, or another language represented in our RSG classes.
