'20 Member & Volunteer Experience VISTA - GIKC - VIP

As a VISTA at United Way of the Piedmont: Gifts in Kind Center, you will develop and improve processes and procedures to communicate with member agencies and partners. You will expand the current volunteer corps that operates the facility, and establish a volunteer leadership corps to provide day-to-day leadership and training to new or temporary volunteers. You will also document departmental processes and procedures to ensure sustainability. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability. Benefits include: access to food co-op, doubled food stamps at the farmer's market, housing referral, household & personal care supplies provided through the Gifts in Kind Center, ongoing professional development, reimbursement for service-related travel, discounted gym membership, & professional mentoring.
