IA & MN Campus Compact Community Corps VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The Community Corps VISTA program works to advance health and educational equity for the people of MN and IA by connecting higher education institutions with the community to create greater access to resources for underserved groups. The cohort addresses health, education, & opportunity inequities by focusing on long-term approaches to social determinants of health, k-12 educational success, college access, literacy programs, personal economic success, & housing and employment support. The VISTA Leader will have the opportunity to support projects focused on community food security, volunteer management for a nonprofit organization, storytelling for individuals experiencing homelessness, healthcare access, connecting college students to poverty relief, partnerships to support underrepresented populations, and more. This position supports a range of projects throughout IA and MN. The VISTA Leader supports members by providing coaching, organizing trainings, collecting data and stories about project outcomes, performing site visits, recruiting VISTAs, strengthening IA and MN program capacity. This is an initiative of IA & MN Campus Compact, a nonprofit association of 59 2-year, 4-year, public and private, college and university presidents committed to civic and community engagement in higher education. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor . Member Duties : The VISTA Leader supports the work of 28 VISTAs who work to build capacity for community-campus partnerships in health, education, and economic opportunity. Duties include: provide resources and coaching to VISTAs; provide administrative support; host monthly virtual discussions; coordinate and plan all functions of in-service trainings for VISTAs; manage and facilitate program communications including weekly newsletters, social media stories, program updates, and program website; hone program evaluation systems; assist with recruitment and outreach; & strengthen connections with program alumni. The VISTA Leader participates in regular site visits. Compensation: $571/bi-weekly, $400/mo housing stipend, $6,095 education award or $3,000 end of service stipend. Benefits include a professional development fund. MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ONE FULL-TIME AMERICORPS SERVICE TERM (VISTA or other AmeriCorps) TO APPLY. RETURNED PEACE CORPS VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE.
