4-H Volunteer Development in Jackson County

The Georgia 4-H research-based 4-H programming has been shown to improve school performance, community engagement and healthy decision making. The goal of this project is to engage an additional 50 low-income youth per year, in Jones County by expanding 4-H club programming resources and developing leaders. Specifically, this VISTA will increase resources to support youth, develop or expand funding streams (through grants and sustainable fundraisers), and expand the number of volunteer-led clubs. Newly formed clubs will focus on school readiness, student performance improvement, social-emotional skill enhancement, and reduction of summer learning loss.
