Are you interested in being part of positive change? Here’s a great opportunity for you to serve as a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) member to improve the lives of people in need while building your resume as a national service volunteer. As the Camden Promise Neighborhood College Readiness Associate, you will serve alongside a team of professionals at Center For Family Services a large social services organization dedicated to changing lives. You will help to increase the number of high-poverty, at-risk students entering and succeeding at an institution of higher education. Start dates are available once per month. Member Duties : As the Camden Promise Neighborhood College Readiness VISTA, you will 1) Assist in the planning and coordination of career fairs, college tours, college nights, college fairs, guest speakers, educational field trips; 2) Create a database of resources to increase students’ and their families’ knowledge of postsecondary options, preparation, and finances; 3) Research local resources that can assist in the development and academic progression of Camden Promise Neighborhood participants. We are excited to work with someone who is passionate about education and supporting students with the next step in their school career. Your service will help support many young people in Camden to transition to this next step. Pre-service drug screenings and criminal background checks are required.
