Elisabet Ney Museum VISTA Summer Associate, City of Austin

VISTA Summer Associates will address the focus of providing education to under-served members of the community. They will plan hands-on activities for special events to increase cultural learning among attendees and carry out parks programming during special museum days. They will expand community partnerships to provide more educational opportunities and resources for children's engagement. Also, in order to support the goal of the first objective (providing education to under-served community members), summer associates will increase community member participation for targeted populations in summer events and programming. They will survey the community to determine barriers for participation and what kinds of programming the community would like to see and create a plan to use the survey information to make the Elisabet Ney Museum’s summer programming more equitable and reflective of community needs. Finally, the Summer Associates will develop marketing and event materials utilizing museum branding and staff guidelines.
