| Member Duties : The VISTA Summer Associate with the Neighborhood Housing and Community Development (NHCD) will serve to alleviate poverty in Austin by increasing economic opportunity by helping to implement marketing and community outreach strategies for NHCD’s resources to assist people looking for affordable housing. They will increase the visibility and utilization of City of Austin’s Resources for Renters and Resources for Homebuyers initiatives.
To achieve this, they will implement marketing and community outreach strategies, and write public information posts and news media releases regarding programs and outreach opportunities for NHCD. The VISTA Summer Associate will also update information about affordable developments to be added to NHCD website; research, categorize, and streamline documents posted to the NHCD website; and help develop guidelines for potential NHCD social media presence using Facebook and Twitter accounts.
