Community Pathways to Family Health and Recovery, IAMNCC

Community Pathways to Family Health and Recovery (CPFHR) is an all-volunteer, community-based nonprofit dedicated to improving our community’s support for children and families impacted by adverse events, with a special focus on those affected by substance use disorders. Our mission is to create and sustain compassionate community pathways to family health and recovery by cultivating dynamic partnerships, conducting relevant research, developing and evaluating resources, and advocating for data driven policies and education. Current projects include researching the needs of children and caregivers affected by substance abuse and developing strategies to reduce barriers and ensure that supports and services are available across the continuum of care. Community education and youth support services are additional priorities. This position provides an excellent foundation for a career in medicine, health care, public health, counseling, social work or other human service professions. You will gain valuable experience in interdisciplinary collaboration, research, grant writing and project management. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. There are three focus areas, this project being in the Health Corps, which supports sites in long-term approaches to the social determinants of health. This includes meeting low-income student needs and a variety of projects with health-focused community organizations. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor . Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
