C.A.R.E Clinic VISTA, IA & MN Campus Compact Community Corps
C.A.R.E. Clinic’s mission is to contribute to the Community by improving health care Access, connecting people to Resources, and promoting health Education. In addition to the new dental clinic, an integrated clinic continues to operate weekly, utilizing 200+ volunteers. The Tuesday evening clinic provides: medical, dental, mental health care, MNsure assistance and resource connection. The goal of CARE Clinic’s project is to improve access to dental care among low-income residents of Goodhue County. In 2019, the clinic expanded from a volunteer-based urgent care (extraction only) clinic to one with expanded hours, staffing, and scope of services. The dental clinic transitioned from a “free” to an “affordable” clinic. The clinic accepts state subsidized insurances or charges a nominal for uninsured patients. CARE Clinic ensures that no patient is turned away due to inability to pay. CARE Clinic is seeking a VISTA Development Coordinator to build the financial and program capacity of the organization to more effectively serve our patients. The goal of the position is to build CARE Clinic’s technical capacity to increase in-kind and financial support and improve donor and volunteer relations. Join this dynamic and passionate group of volunteers and staff; MAKE AN IMPACT! This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by IA & MN Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. There are three focus areas, this project being in the Health Corps, which supports sites in long-term approaches to the social determinants of health. This includes meeting low-income student needs and a variety of projects with health-focused community organizations. Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early
