El Centro de la Raza was founded in 1972 when a multiracial group of diverse community members led a peaceful and innovative three-month occupation of the abandoned Beacon Hill school building. Today, we are an indispensable community institution that responds to a broad range of community needs among children, youth, adults, and seniors with 43 culturally and linguistically integrative programs. Twelve principles guide our work for social justice and community organizing, creating successful educational, human service, housing, economic development, and asset building programs. We tell and document our history for future generations., and are passionate and effective advocates for the rights and opportunities of vulnerable and marginalized people. This position is contingent on funding. This position is open until filled.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps Service Member will serve as an assistant to the program coordinator/course instructor in preparing and coordinating training plans, and assisting with administrative duties relating to small business development and other BOC programs including marketing materials and digital literacy training. Will engage with students, instructors and admin staff on a daily basis to support participant success. Will coordinate with organizational staff to provide relevant referrals to other community based services.
