CoF Fairbanks Children’s Museum Summer Associate
The Summer Associate project at the Fairbanks Children’s Museum prevents summer learning loss among low-income households by offering several learning opportunities throughout the summer. The Fairbanks Children’s Museum offers daily educational activities. In addition to the daily educational programming, they also offer summer camps that focus on Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEAM) and sensory programming for younger children. The Fairbanks Children's Museum participates in the Museums For All initiative. Museums are an incredible community resource and should be accessible to all families, regardless of income. The Museums for All initiative represents a long stride toward the goal of reaching more children and parents, especially those living in poverty, with the valuable learning resources of museums. The museum will also offer book giveaways and take some exhibits around town to serve a wider audience of children that might not have the transportation resources to routinely make it to the museum.
