ShareCorps- Perry Cook Memorial Public Library Summer Lunch
 
 
 
We are a small, rural public library serving the Northmor schools. We provide materials to support the educational and recreational needs of our patrons, as well as access to computers and Wi-fi. We are a member of the Serving Every Ohioan (SEO) consortium, providing access to over 8 million books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and video games. During the summer we help students battle the "summer slide" (losing skills acquired during the school year through inactivity) by sponsoring the Summer Reading Program. We will be presenting programs incorporating STEM and STEAM components, marionettes, live animals and tons of fun, as well as daily lunches for children up to age 18.

Member Duties : As a VISTA volunteer at the Perry Cook Memorial Public Library you will be working with the community to identify groups that could aid in supporting the Summer Food Program. You will also be responsible for recruiting and training other volunteers, marketing the program to the target audience and keeping the community aware of our activities through social and print media. The best part will be coordinating the distribution of food during lunch. Administrative activities, such as keeping documentation for the Summer Food program will also be required. We are looking from someone who is good with people, able to smile even when stressed and have the ability to think on your feet. Join us for a rewarding summer of service!
