Kenmore Neighborhood Alliance Marketing VISTA

Kenmore Neighborhood Alliance works to revitalize the Kenmore neighborhood in Akron, OH, starting with its economic, cultural and relational core, the Kenmore Boulevard Historic District. As KNA’s VISTA, you will help us promote and grow engagement around Kenmore First Fridays, monthly placemaking events aimed at rebuilding economic and relational connectivity in what is fast becoming known as Akron’s Music Row. You help to will develop strategies and relationships that support these events and beautification efforts going forward. You will participate in planning and observe placemaking and beautification events throughout 2022 to help us refine our activities to better serve residents, producing a workplan that can be implemented in 2023 and beyond. Starting in June, you will jump feet first into Kenmore First Fridays, observing small businesses, nonprofit agencies and food truck activities and volunteers at these events, identifying opportunities for improvement. You will do the same with our beautification efforts, including cleanups and holiday decorating events. You will develop and implement marketing tools to attract residents to our events and to help our small business, nonprofit agency and food truck partners to the same. All of this will set the stage for volunteer recruitment efforts in 2023, when you will help us develop a network of volunteers, empowering residents to improve the community where they live, work and play for years to come.
