Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio serves four counties in Northeast Ohio. Our community members in Lorain, Erie, Huron and Crawford counties rely on our network of over 160 programs in order to access fresh, nutritious food. We are committed to our communities and are passionate about increasing family food stability through innovation and education. We recognize the intersections of hunger and health and see unique partnerships with entities such as healthcare providers as the path forward to sustainable programming and lasting change. Second Harvest will continue to be an exemplary steward of the resources entrusted to us and will continue to serve our region with compassion and integrity.

Member Duties : Second Harvest Food Bank works with multiple school districts to help increase family food stability. We are constantly looking to strengthen our current programming by employing creative problem solving and a process of constant revision. We look for innovative ideas to ensure those at risk have access to nutritious food. Our VISTA member will review current School Pantry programs and work with school staff to identify strengths and areas of growth for our program. The VISTA will develop informational materials and a comprehensive handbook for future pantry on-boarding. Additionally, the VISTA will work to strengthen district relationships by soliciting feedback and understanding how the program can adapt to meet each district’s unique needs.
