Pathfinders Resource Development VISTA

Since 1997, Pathfinders, located in Fort Worth, TX, has served Tarrant County with programs that fulfill its mission of empowering individuals and families to find their path from poverty to self-sufficiency. We fulfill our idealistic mission with two programs; Mentoring and Financial Capability. Our Mentoring program matches trained volunteer mentors with individuals and families struggling to overcome the bonds of poverty, unemployment, homelessness or reentry after incarceration. With a highly qualified and professional Financial Capability staff, Pathfinders provides financial education and coaching. Our Financial Capability program helps low- and moderate-income people attain economic stability by building skills to improve financial behaviors. We use a client-driven approach that includes goal setting and action planning through coaching on budgeting, banking, credit, and borrowing. The Financial Capability program includes financial education, financial coaching, savings match, and social lending. The Resource Development VISTA serving at Pathfinders will develop a robust volunteer program, recruiting volunteers and increasing volunteer retention. Additionally, the Resource Development VISTA will support program operations by researching and soliciting new funding opportunities.
