Festa - Volunteer Coordinator

Festa is a movement of caring professionals and volunteers who want to love and serve their neighbors. Every day we work together to mobilize communities, build relationships and connect people across socioeconomic, cultural, racial, ethnic, and religious barriers. We partner with families and children facing suburban poverty in Central Ohio and beyond, connecting them to people and resources to help them take steps OUT of poverty-in this generation. Out of 1.32 million Central Ohio residents, 155,800 (10%) and counting are New American immigrants and refugees.166,800 Central Ohio residents are currently facing poverty, 32,240 (19%) of whom are immigrants. Festa has facilitated a Free Summer Lunch Camp since 2007; we have served 185,045 meals over the last 17 years, fighting hunger and its effects in our community. Our other programs include the 3-Generation Family ESL Program, Good Tidings Christmas Store, Connecting to Resources, and more. A VISTA member will help Festa further our services to address the needs of those facing poverty in Central Ohio.

Member Duties : As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a leading role in mobilizing our community to Serve Our Neighbors! You will be our primary contact for volunteer engagement inquiries, overseeing volunteer recruitment and training. You will develop a volunteer program that connects people of all ages with opportunities at Festa to utilize their talents in service to others. The key to this role is relationship building and taking volunteers from “beginners” who take a step into service, to “owners” who run areas of Festa and bring their circle of influence with them. In addition to onboarding volunteers, you will promote their ongoing development and lead regular communications. You will establish our volunteers by planning and hosting volunteer appreciation events. Finally, you will measure volunteer outcomes, demonstrating the impact of their experience. Reliable transportation is required for this position. Benefits include a monthly $200 housing stipend to supplement living costs.
