Hardy Center - Program Technical Developer & Analyst

At the Hardy center we prepare young minds for a prosperous future through literacy life skills and leadership. We do this by developing innovative ways to reestablish time honored means of educating children in reading writing and arithmetic. In addition, we stress the importance of civics and communication skills with the aim of producing educated voters who can express their opinions effectively. The challenge for Hardy Center management and Vista members is to communicate these goals and their outcomes to the philanthropic community and to the public so as to provide funding and personnel to accomplish our mission. We bridge the Covid learning gap for inner-city students by offering high-dose tutoring, tailored academic support, and educational programming to ensure Linden area students thrive despite educational disruptions. The outcomes of our organization's efforts stand as proof of the effectiveness of high-dose tutoring in the inner city, in that last year, 90% of our Linden area students finished our tutoring program at or above grade level in all subjects.

Member Duties : As our VISTA, you will evaluate our current programming and methodologies providing education to students. Your work will enhance our systems and ensure that our goals are clearly communicated to donors and volunteers. By writing interdisciplinary curricula, you will empower our students to grow to their full potential as citizens of our community. Through your developed curriculum, students will engage in experiential learning and overcome the learning gaps resulting from the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic. You will also ensure that our volunteer tutors have the training they need to implement this curriculum in our programs. Collaborating with management, you will assess our educational programming to identify areas of need.
