Thai CDC Farmers' Mkt Sustainability/Integration Coordinator

The Thai Community Development Center (Thai CDC) is a non-profit community development corporation whose mission is “to advance the social and economic well-being of low- and moderate-income individuals in the greater Los Angeles area through a broad and comprehensive community development strategy including human rights advocacy, affordable housing, access to healthcare, promotion of small businesses, neighborhood empowerment and social enterprises.” Thai CDC was founded in 1994 and has been making a difference ever since with programs and projects like our East Hollywood Certified Farmers’ Markets, our 106 units of affordable multi-family and senior housing, and our Slavery Eradication and Rights Initiative. Thai CDC is located in Hollywood, Los Angeles, adjacent to Thai Town. This position will assist in developing the sustainability of the East Hollywood Farmers’ Market through marketing, community development, vendor and volunteer recruitment, and integration with Thai CDC’s social enterprise and business incubator project, the Thai Town Marketplace. Opening soon in March 2020, the Thai Town Marketplace will collaborate with the farmers’ market and begin to oversee its daily operations. The VISTA will be responsible for helping develop the infrastructure for the Thai Town Marketplace to oversee the farmers’ market. Thai CDC is seeking an individual with superior organizational skills and strict attention to detail; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram; self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and the ability to proactively prioritize competing demands and efficiently manage multiple tasks.
