2020 Children's Cove Community Programs Coordinator
Children's Cove's mission is to provide coordinated and comprehensive multidisciplinary services for children who have been sexually abused, severely physically abused, have witnessed domestic violence or have been commercially sexually exploited (trafficked). The Cove serves the regions of Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard. The VISTA will strengthen capacity for the organization in two distinct ways: Provide prevention education and engage youth within the region's school districts through the Teen TASK Force and help mitigate the prevalence of child sexual abuse by recruiting and training a specialized cohort of volunteers. The VISTA member will have knowledge within the field of child advocacy and be able to respond to situations that may be sensitive in nature. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational/project planning skills; be motivated to engage the community through networking and public presentations; able to serve as a team member; have technological skills that include Excel, Word, and other social media platforms. The VISTA will participate in all Cove trainings, conferences, workshops and networking events. Expenses will be reimbursed for travel throughout the Cape & Islands. The VISTA will receive professional supervision to monitor monthly workplans and gain feedback regarding performance. The VISTA must reside within a reasonable distance to the Cape & Islands.

Member Duties : The VISTA will contribute to the goals of Children’s Cove by: Recruiting, training, and managing a specialized cohort of volunteers; Scheduling and implementing events, activities, and forums for the Teen TASK Force established in three school districts; Developing online publicity and social media marketing in collaboration with the Cove’s Community Outreach and Education Coordinator; Strengthening existing community relationships; Serving at the collaborating schools and additional organizations that address issues specific to children, youth, and families who represent Cape Cod’s demographic and socio-economic populations.
