OHA HIV Food Security Coordinator VISTA

This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. For more information about the Oregon Health Authority VISTA Partnership Program, please visit: http://healthoregon.org/vista The Oregon Health Authority’s HIV/STD/TB program is part of the Public Health Division. The HIV/STD/TB Section analyzes and reports epidemiologic data on HIV, STD and TB infections, and develops, implements and evaluates evidence-driven programs. Our objectives are to educate Oregonians about the impact of HIV, STD and TB infections; to assist in the development of local and national public policy related to the prevention and care of these infections; and to coordinate with and inform other agencies of the services available to persons affected by these diseases. The VISTA will work with End HIV Oregon, an initiative to end new HIV infections in Oregon by 2021. Through this collaboration, the Oregon Health Authority supports activities that help OHA and community partners achieve our collective End HIV Oregon goals. As an incentive, the VISTA member will receive a transit pass as part of their service. With the innovative public health work happening in Oregon, Portland is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health.
