***To be eligible for this position, candidates must commit to serve full-time for one year with United Way.*** United Way of King County’s mission is to bring caring people together to give, volunteer, and take action to help people in need and solve our community’s toughest challenges. The VISTA will work closely with the Program Manager to increase the capacity of United Way of King County’s Food Security program. The VISTA member will serve within a large cohort of VISTA members working to fight poverty in King County.

Member Duties : United Way of King County is a local leader in developing and funding innovative anti-poverty programs to help people in need and solving our community’s toughest challenges. The Emergency Food System VISTA will increase access to home delivery of groceries by expanding United Way’s Last Mile delivery partnership with Door Dash and local food banks. Duties include partnering with food banks to develop program infrastructure and provide program-specific technical assistance; consult with program staff and partners to develop strategies to manage issues with service delivery; develop program-specific outreach materials and communication strategies; and develop relationships with BIPOC-led organizations to provide culturally specific food boxes to key community groups. The key focus region for this position is North/East King County.
