Morehouse College Strong Start Reading Program Lead
 
 
 
In partnership with Atlanta Public Schools, the Morehouse College Community Revitalization Initiative's StrongStart Reading Program utilizes volunteers as mentors. Our model is successful and is currently at 4 schools that abut the campus. The MCCRI's strong community network, assists in strengthening our outcomes. The program assists in obliterating the barriers that disadvantaged children face, using reading as a tool. We are seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Lead, who can work with other VISTAS, providing the necessary guidance to effectively plan the details of the program.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA Lead must understand service; the applicant must have strong written, interpersonal, leadership, organizational and team building skills. Additionally, the applicant must possess strong community based skills and have practical experience working in low-moderate income communities.
